Qualified language instruction and internationally recognized language certificates at ILS
The International Language School (ILS) has been operating for around 10 years and is an eduQua-certified language school with locations in Bern, Basel, Zurich, Aarau, and St. Gallen. The organization stands for high-quality language instruction, combining professional learning with a personal and family-like atmosphere. As an ÖSD examination centre, it now has ambitious goals for the future.
Small groups, targeted exam preparation
ILS offers language courses in German, French, English, and Spanish — both in groups (3–8 participants) and as individual lessons. The groups are intentionally kept small to ensure individual attention.
Particularly popular are the intensive German courses at levels A1 to C1. In addition, online courses are available, designed to be just as intensive and interactive as face-to-face instruction.
The courses are aimed at adults and teenagers who wish to improve their language skills. ILS provides targeted preparation for recognized exams such as ÖSD, fide, telc, DELF/DALF, and Cambridge, using official materials and practice exams.
A language school for experiential learning
A special emphasis at ILS is placed on lively, practice-oriented language learning. Numerous activities — such as film and game nights, excursions, and brunches — give learners the opportunity to apply their language skills in real-life contexts and to take an active role in their social integration. By combining formal instruction with real-world language experiences, ILS creates a learning environment that goes far beyond the traditional language course.

Each ILS location is centrally situated and easily accessible — for example, in Bern at Thunstrasse 8. The modern classrooms provide a pleasant and supportive atmosphere for learning. New chances as an ÖSD examination centre
Explaining the motivation behind becoming a licensed examination centre for the Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch (ÖSD), ILS Managing Director Ebubekir Kaya says: “Our decision is rooted in our commitment to providing a broad range of internationally recognized exams. ÖSD certificates are not only acknowledged in Austria but throughout the entire German-speaking world. They open additional educational and professional opportunities for our participants.”
