ÖSD certificates are internationally recognized – for you as a licensed ÖSD examination centre, this means that you have the opportunity to facilitate international paths for children, young people, and adults. In particular, the range of ÖSD exams at levels B2 and C1 offers young people and adults numerous opportunities for studies and careers – worldwide.

Facilitate the way into the labour market and vocational training

ÖSD certificates from level B1 open doors to study, vocational training and careers in German-speaking countries for people from all over the world. The ÖSD B1 certificate, for example (which was developed jointly with the Goethe Institute and the University of Fribourg), provides access to the labour market in many practical professions (e.g. as a nurse), to vocational training and, in some cases, to universities of applied sciences and universities.

ZB2 and ZC1 as a prerequisite for activities in higher-skilled occupations

Certain professional fields (e.g. medical professions) require a higher level of German language skills in addition to a higher level of qualification for their employees. As internationally recognised certificates, which are equivalent to those of other language test providers such as the Goethe Institute or telc GmbH, ÖSD certificates at levels B2 or C1 prove that the language requirements for working in these areas are met. People who want to obtain a higher qualification must also prove B2 or C1 proficiency in order to show that they are linguistically prepared for the academic world of the German-speaking world.
