The German language opens doors: \u00d6SD German exams were held in Benin for the first time on July 2024, offering participants a unique opportunity to certify their language skills on site.
\nIn cooperation with the language institute \u201cSpass mit Deutsch\u201d, this premiere marked an important step for education and career opportunities in the West African region.<\/h2>\n

On July 2024, the \u00d6SD German exams were held for the first time in the West African state of Benin, formerly Dahomey.
\n\u00d6SD employees Claudia Merz and Karoline Janicek traveled from Austria to Benin to test 100 candidates at levels A1<\/a>, B1<\/a> and B2<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Local cooperation enables international German exams in Benin for the first time<\/h3>\n

The \u00d6SD exam took place in cooperation with the language institute \u201cSpass mit Deutsch\u201d, under the direction of Mr. Necsima Herv\u00e9 Kassa, in Abomey-Calavi.
\nA particular benefit: for the first time, exam participants now had the opportunity to take part in an international German exam without having to travel to the neighboring country of Togo. This saved time and money.<\/p>\n

\"\u00d6SD<\/div>\n

\u00d6SD exams as an opportunity for work and career in German-speaking countries<\/h3>\n

For many, the language course at the \u201cSpass mit Deutsch\u201d institute is their first contact with the German language. But what motivates them to learn German? The goal of the prospective students, some of whom are very young, is first and foremost further education. They also want to improve their chances of finding a job in a German-speaking country such as Austria, Germany or Switzerland.<\/p>\n

A particularly interesting detail in the efforts to promote education in Benin: many of the young people have also traveled from other African countries such as Mali or Senegal to take the exam, which once again underlines the importance of such projects.<\/p>\n
